MIMA received Delegation of National Defence College India Course Serial 58 headed by Rear Admiral DM Sudan, Senior Directing Staff (Navy). The purpose of the visit was to exchange views on matters relating to maritime matters in particular on the South China Sea.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral DM Sudan extend his words of appreciation to MIMA for the opportunity in sharing perspectives on maritime including Indian Ocean related issues. Ms. Sumathy Permal, briefed the delegation on “Strategic Issues in South China Sea”, the Indo Pacific and Maritime Confidence Building Measures.

The question and answers session among others discussed the confluence of the Indian Ocean interests, current issues on BRI and Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD), the importance of South China Sea and Straits of Malacca as a strategic and importance SLOCs.
