25 July 2018
Jakarta

The project, comprising a series of workshop inaugurated by RSIS and CSIS in 2017, stock-takes existing maritime cooperation frameworks and initiatives by assessing the various degrees of mechanisms and its challenges. It includes how ASEAN countries view the different mechanisms and which forum should be prioritised and enhanced. The welcoming address was delivered by Dr. Philips J. Vermonte, Executive Director of CSIS, Jakarta and H.E. Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, Executive Deputy Chairman of RSIS, Singapore. The workshop examined each ASEAN nation’s domestic and foreign policy priorities relating to maritime issues and mapping out shared priorities for cooperative efforts.
